Professional Profile of a YMCA Secretary and a YMCA General Secretary

The following characteristics show what a YMCA secretary should personify and be able to do. The requirements of the national movements are different but there is a list of competences which are common. And the members of the International Coalition of YMCA Universities undertake to train these competences.

	a. Knowledge on history and development of YMCA
	b. Skill in democratic processes of decision making

B. Special

6. Special requirement of national movements

	India: Christian commitment and people-centered skills: one has to be a communicant member of a church, carry passion to be with the poor and needy and work for the kingdom values of justice, peace, equality and joy.
	Germany: The German YMCA works on the principle of Christian leadership and open membership. Professionals are leaders, so the applicants of the training are required to belief in Jesus Christ and to be a communicant member of a church.
