Change in leadership of the "CVJM- Gesamtverband in Deutschland e.V."- head-office of the YMCA in Germany

Kassel / 11.02.2010 (cvjm). After intensive deliberation, the YMCA head-office` board of management decided unanimously for the appointment of Dr. Wolfgang Neuser to become rector of the YMCA University- during a session on 05./06. of February 2010. The university-senate has already confirmed this nomination by an election. On 30. of April, Neuser will lay down his tasks as YMCA - general secretary, to dedicate himself totally to the development and leadership of the YMCA-University. Since March 2009, the secretary-general of the YMCA head-office Germany, Pastor Dr. Wolfgang Neuser (58), already leads the YMCA-University as founding-rector.

This double-burden will come to an end in May this year, due to the full-time appointment of becoming rector of the YMCA-University.

Taking up this function is the logical consequence, as a result of long years of intensive work on and at the YMCA-University/ College. In the year 2009 already, when the married father of two children, had still been director of the YMCA-College, he developed the concept of a state-approved university, under the umbrella of the YMCA. Followed up by a long and labour-intensive process, during which the man born in "Siegerland" (Hessia, Germany) never lost his goal - the founding of the university.

Not even when he was appointed to become secretary-general of the YMCA-head association of Germany, in 2005, and thus beeing follow-up of Ulrich Parzany. The process of the institutional accreditation by the scientific board and the study-course accreditation by an agency in charge specifically, did not go without kickbacks. But on 27. of March 2009, the founding has been celebrated and after the YMCA-University started operating with 54 student-debutants in September 2009, the building-up of the international YMCA-University gathered a lot of way. To fill the post of the vacant position "secretary general", the board of management has installed a "task-force", under the leadership of president Karl-Heinz Stengel.
